Description
Weight stigma is rarely acknowledged in psychological training or practice. When it is, it is typically done so with no regard to social justice. This causes great harm people of all body sizes, but especially fat folx. This session will explore intersectional stigmatization, racial origins of fatphobia, and the ethical imperative to responsibly address these as school psychologists. Attendees will engage in critical dialogic conversations to reflect on their internalized beliefs and apply body liberation concepts to their work.
