Teachers of the Blind/Visually Impaired (TBVI) would like to invite you to the February Statewide BVI Meeting. The day will focus on intelligence testing of students who are blind and visually impaired as needed for evaluation and re-evaluation of students with complex needs.
When appropriate practices are followed, valuable and useful information can be obtained. It is the “appropriate practice” that differentiates testing this low incidence population from other students. It is important that TBVI and School Psychologists have this knowledge and can effectively collaborate for the benefit of students who are blind/visually impaired.
This BVI Specific Workshop will include:
• Overview of IQ Testing (Condensed for TBVI)
• Implications of BVI on IQ Testing
• Selection of standardized instruments (WISC-V, KABC-II, WJ IV COG)
• Necessity of Collaboration
• Meeting Accessibility Needs
• Reporting and Explaining Results
